History:

The heritage of the orchard has been many years in the making. Our orchard is on the original Odalen farmstead.. It has been given the distinction of a Century Farm, which is now in the third generation of the Odalen'. We began planting trees in 1988 and each year after that have added trees and new varieties. We turned the original piece of land into one of the best orchards in the area. One of the greatest pleasures of our work at the apple orchard is the opportunity to visit with so many families. We hope visits to our farm will become part of your family tradition.

Duane and Theresa, orginally from Ellsworth, lived and worked in the Milwaukee area many years. Looking toward retirement, they purchased the acreage from Duanes parents, 31 acres, and started to plan their retirement, Duane has had an orchard in the back of his mind. You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy. They thought it would be a nice hobby to get back into agriculture. The hobby has taken a complete turn around to a full time job. Now they have about 2000 trees, 25 varieties, bakery, restaurant, produce, pantry items, apple cider and gifts. Hard work but very rewarding.
