Desert Weyr, LLC breeds high performance Black Welsh Mountain sheep. Our small farm on Garvin Mesa In Paonia, Colorado is home to one of the largest flocks of purebred, registered, performance recorded Black Welsh Mountain sheep in North America.
Our stock are double registered in both the US and UK and we record all of our animals with the National Sheep Improvement Program (NSIP) for breeding value calculations.
We maintain 3 of the 8 known bloodline clusters of Black Welsh sheep in North America.
We sell breeding stock and meat from our farm. We will not ship meat.
Live sheep for breeding must be picked up here at the farm or we can assist in arranging transport. We are Export Qualified Scrapie free and can provide breeding sheep to the US and Canada.
We also sell fleece, roving, yarn and other products. We can ship wool anywhere in the United States.
