History:

At the end of the Great Depression, in 1937, James Fleming Sr set the first 20 acres of trees to start Fleming Orchards. He believed the orchard would increase the value of the farm. His son, James “Boots” Fleming kept the dream alive and upon his return from World War II built the first packing shed on the site. Over the years both wholesale and retail sales grew steadily. New products were introduced, additional acres were planted as Fleming Orchards built on the dreams of the founder and their reputation for the finest quality and the friendliest service in the area.

In 1993, Boots passed away and the torch was passed to yet another Jim Fleming. Jim and his mother, Ruth, run the orchard to this day, maintaining the quality and reputation of the orchard. The size of the orchard has varied over the years, but our goal is to run an operation that remains small and family owned.

Fleming Orchards consists of over 275 acres atop the beautiful Kickapoo Valley. The land includes acreage used for growing apples, pumpkins, squash, and corn. A large portion of the land is also dedicated to forest management. We believe in smart farming and have always strived to produce the high quality produce.
