In case you are not aware, Apple Hill was Originally "Pear Hill" back in the 1950's. Owned by a Native American Family, Pear Hill's crop was on the verge of decline from poisonous insects. After his service in the Korean War, George Visman walked up the road from working at his father's orchard, Boa Vista, & purchased Pear Hill with only $500 in his back pocket. Hence the beginnings of Apple Hill's High Hill Ranch in Placerville, CA.
