McClure’s Orchard/Winery is a family-run apple farm located north of Peru, on U.S. 31. Twenty years ago, Paige and Jerry McClure went looking for a new adventure. They happened upon an overgrown orchard, trees tall and full of ******* with a lawn unkempt, lonely and detached from its community. Throughout the sixty-acre spread, only one apple grew!
Since, we have worked hard to reclaim the Orchard, turning it into a flourishing apple farm and restoring it as a place within the community for everyone to enjoy. Whether folks are coming straight from town or are just passing through the area, we hope they take the time to stop, stretch their legs and spend a few moments taking in the sweet (sometimes musty or fermented) country air.
And during your stop, you are bound to see at least one McClure. Whether it is while you enjoy an apple dumpling, take the kids to the petting zoo, try one of our fresh apples and a cup of apple cider slush or sample one of our award winning hard ciders and wines, one of us will be there to help.
The support from our extended family has been amazing, too. We couldn’t have come this far without them and members from the community who we hold dear to our hearts.
